Oakleigh Lounge is located in the heart of Oakleigh, VIC as part of the Oakleigh / Carnegie RSL.
Over the years, entertainment in the RSL hall has been an integral part of the community, dating back to the 1950’s where it was frequently used for ballroom dancing. In recent years, the renowned hall has been widely used as an entertainment hub for live music.
Early 2019, saw the birth of the Oakleigh Lounge with Blair Burt at the creative helm. Blair has a longstanding involvement in the music industry. For many years, he worked for ABC TV and SBS radio as an audio engineer/producer and worked with the who’s who of the music world including bands such as The Black Sorrows, Lou Reed, Frank Sinatra, Vince Jones, Models and many other great musicians.
Oakleigh Lounge is all about lovers of live music coming together to enjoy a fun night out. It is a venue that has a warm, friendly vibe, ideal for catching up with friends and a venue where you can enjoy a drink and a meal whilst also enjoying a bit of a boogie on the dance floor.
Friday and Saturday nights at Oakleigh Lounge feature a range of both original and cover bands / tribute shows. Artists such Wendy Stapleton, Raw Brit ‘60s hard rock and Rebecca O’Connor’s Tina Turner Show are just some of the fabulous shows Oakleigh Lounge has hosted since it’s beginnings.
If you are looking for a more relaxed vibe then the Sunday sessions at Oakleigh Lounge must be experienced. You’ll be treated to various popular Blue’s,Jazz, Swing and R’n’B bands, whilst enjoying the superb beer garden.
